Slam Dunk of Giving

Wingstop Charities partnered with the Mavs Foundation for a BIG opportunity to give back to the community. Voice of Hope Ministries, a local organization benefiting children in areas of mentorship and education, was treated to a brand new, decked-out court, complete with a new court surface, basketball goals, wall pads, insulation replacements and the finishing touch of Mavs Blue paint.

Celebrating the new court, Mavs Foundation, Wingstop Charities and other sponsors performed a special ceremonial net cutting.

“We’re really excited to be here, and are thrilled to partner with the Mavs Foundation as well as Voice of Hope,” Marisa Carona, Wingstop Charities Chair, said at the ceremony. “The mission of Wingstop Charities is to engage our youth in the pursuit of their passions, whether it’s career, education, the arts or sports, so what a perfect pairing!”

After the ceremony, the children of Voice of Hope programming broke in their new court with Mavs coaches and player Justin Jackson leading them in a basketball clinic. Running around the court for drills and dribbling basketballs, laughs bounced off the new walls and smiles were seen all around.

After the fun inside, the children, their families and the community were treated to additional surprises, a Wingstop and Mavs Foundation festival! The Wingstop Wing Truck was out front giving out FREE wings alongside the music of the Dallas Mavericks DJ. Additionally, we gave out free T-shirts, hats, socks, Lemon Pepper air fresheners, and more from our Wingstop swag tent.
