Wingstop Charities awards 27 grants totaling $133,600 to local organizations!

During the 2021 spring grant cycle Wingstop Charities awarded $133,600 to 27 local community programs focused on improving the lives of youth.

Wingstop Charities mission is to engage with youth in the pursuit of their passions. We do this through a grant application process where our brand partners (franchisees) apply on behalf of organizations they serve locally.

During the 2021 spring grant cycle Wingstop Charities awarded $133,600 to 27 local community programs focused on improving the lives of youth. Programs range from combating hunger in students, to extracurricular programs for children in foster care, to classroom technology and STEM programs and more. See below for the full list of spring grant recipients.

Bethlehem Center

The Bridge Builders Mentoring Program provides mentoring, leadership development, academic support and life skills to at risk boys between the ages of 6-13.

BUILD NYC

Wingstop Charities’ grant will support in-class instruction, after school mentor sessions, student pitch competitions and pop up shops, professional and life skills workshops, and career and college exposure field trips.

Court Appointed Special Advocates of Stanislaus County

Funds will provide extracurricular opportunities to children in foster care, including tutoring, sports.

Excel Empowerment Zone

With the support of Wingstop Charities, participants will learn, produce and package fresh produce, products and art to sale in local markets. Students will empower the community with the benefits of healthy living and financial sustainability.

Hope Farm

Funds will support the Fast Forward Reading Program, intended to catch reading deficient boys up to or past their prescribed reading level.

Gap Community Center

GAPAdemics offers homework help and extracurricular learning opportunities to students in K-8 on Chicago’s West Side.

First Tee West Texas

Thanks to Wingstop Charities First Tee West Texas will be able to offer our Golf & Life-Skills Experience program at golf courses to more youth in our service area communities. This grant will enable us to train new volunteer coaches, purchase youth golf equipment, and provide free or low-cost programs.

Junior Achievement in the Wabash Valley, a district operation of Junior Achievement of Greater St. Louis

Thanks in part to a grant from Wingstop Charities, Junior Achievement in the Wabash Valley will provide K-12th grade programs to nearly 11,000 Vigo County area students during the 2020-2021 school year. Junior Achievement’s mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.

Just Us 4 Youth

JU4Y’s Restorative Justice Reading Group, which occurs within our PAC’D Program, promotes community support, social and emotional skill-building, and the importance of reading.

Ridgewood High School

Grant funds will allow Ridgewood to access and implement the PLTW computer science curriculum.

Safe Harbor Haven, Inc. dba Safe Harbor Boys Home

Funds will assist with the purchase of equipment to support the Culinary Arts and Horticulture program at Safe Harbor.  Residents learn primary skills required to begin a career in the maritime industry aboard ships, yachts, or in the military service. 

Tru Prep Academy

Support from Wingstop Charities will go towards developing trade programs for our students (barbering, auto mechanics, sports technicians, health care technicians, computer programmer and construction).

Brayden’s Gift

Funding will support the Brayden’s Gift Technology Program for children with autism. This funding provides iPads, software (Proloquo2Go), and protective cases. These iPads are an essential part of communication for children with autism.

Care Net Women’s Resource Center, Inc

This grant will strengthen the ongoing support they offer to expecting and new parents through classes and mentoring. The Earn-While-You-Learn parenting classes equip parents to better meet the needs of their child as a newborn, infant, and toddler.

Cherished LA, Inc.

CherishedLA is providing survivor-led trauma groups for minor victims of human trafficking in residential care.

Dallas Academy

Dallas Academy will recreate the library into a post-COVID media center structured so that students with learning differences can learn individually or in groups.

Delivering with Dignity Orange County – The Moonridge Foundation

Delivering with Dignity is helping our most vulnerable residents and communities stay safe by delivering high-quality restaurant prepared meals directly to doorsteps, reducing the risk of exposure to the novel coronavirus as well keeping those restaurants in business, saving their employees jobs.

Grace Resources, Inc.

Wingstop Charities funds will support Computer Training for the Future – an afterschool program for tutoring and equipping young people to thrive.

Human Options

Funds will support Human Option’s children’s therapeutic program within the emergency shelter serving survivors of domestic violence.

Lee Mount Vernon Sports Club

Wingstop Charities’ grant will allow 80 additional youth to participate in sports programs.

Leyden High School

Support from Wingstop Charities will teach new methods of marketing including digital advertising, search engine optimization, Google Ad placement, email marketing and more.  

Lotus Elite Academic Preparatory School

Supporting the Education and Employment Center, funding supports youth in their pursuit of their educational or employment goals and other associated costs.

Pearl Foundation, Inc.

Funds will support back to school care packages for 150 homeless students to ensure that students have the necessary supplies to return to the classroom safely.

Terre Haute North Little League

Funding will support student participation in the youth league and provide dugout improvements.

United Campus Ministries

United Campus Ministries serves the Higher Education Institutions of the Terre Haute Area. Our primary mission is our Student Food Pantry which provided food to the students of the four Higher Education Institutions. 

Vigo County Youth Soccer Association

Funding for picnic tables for the soccer families and the improvement of the clubhouse facilities for meetings and administration.

Walther Christian Academy

Support from Wingstop Charities will advance the WCA STEM program.
